While doing some grocery shopping yesterday, I picked up a quart of homemade cream of chipped beef. The price tag said, $14.99. I asked the clerk if this was a mistype. She laughed and said, “No. That’s the right price.” I put it back on the shelf, still shivering with disbelief, and proceeded to another aisle where sticker shock followed me around, aisle after aisle. I guess I’ll be shopping at Dollar General-type stores. The prices are low. Then, when you need produce, fresh baked goods and meats, a trip to the grocery store is in order.
